Wellness Club by T

Due to busy schedules and the end of the year coming, Wellness Club by T has come to an end. Some of us lost weight, some of us stayed the same and as hard as it is to say some even gained.  Unfortanenly no one won the $60 to be the first to lose 11lbs. I lost 11 lbs, but I bounced up and down  2-3 lbs and wasn't able to stay under 11 lbs and that was my personal goal.

What I learned from this group is SUPPORT is #1 when trying to lose weight.  SUPPORT online for education with SUPPORT face to face when it comes to eating and exercising. At a later date I will run the group again. The information given is strong (thank you Integretive Nutrition http://www.integrativenutrition.com/ ), but people who want to lose weight really need ongoing face to face support. It's like most things we do, being held accountable also allows us to strive even harder and pushes us when we don't want to do it for ourselves.

I'm glad I know I have additional service to offer people. Eating healthy and exercising will always be a work in progress.

I wish everyone better health. Remember instead of dieting, change your eating habits, set goals and stick to them. The importance to a healthy weight is feeling good inside and out.

Facing FEAR head on

New Steps Forward is up and running!

I have started a Parent Share Group where families come together and share what they are going through and receive support from other parents and myself. We started in October, earlier then I planned, per request of families. The group has started off strong and I look forward to continuing our monthly meetings in 2011.

From May - December I had my private clients who all made great progress. The best compliment I received was "Your help is worth all the money in the world. You saved our vacation. You saved our family!" When fear fills me I remember this and move forward.

This year I will take cases on as needed and help families as much as possible. My main focus will be finishing my program and taking my state board certification test.

New Steps Forward will continue to move forward and look for new adventures! Stay tuned!

Yeast no more... almost

Hello! It's been some time and I received my test results!
I am almost yeast free. I need to continue with what I'm doing, which has been:
No added sugar
Minimal high fructose sugar
Minimal fruit and fruit juice
Minimal amount of dairy
Minimal mushrooms
Minimal vinegar (substituted apple cider vinegar)

Over the next 3 months I will reduce some foods that I should have reduced when I started this yeast adventure:
Bread
Beer
Salad Dressing
Pre packaged snacks: cookies, cakesm candy, etc (I don't eat them often, but know it is something I should cut back on).

Tip: When I "reduce things" I finish what I have already bought and then reduce by not buying next time!

I am also taking prescriptions to reduce yeast:
Nystatin
Ketoconazole

and a herb to assist to decrease yeast:
Uva Ursi

Since I began this "Get rid of yeast" attack I haven't been perfect and I think I will have flare ups once in awhile, as I enjoy ice cream once in awhile and other things I know I shouldn't have.

I'm about being realistic and not spending a year getting rid of the yeast to then spending years later attacking it again because I couldn't stick to it. What I believe in, is life style changes rather than unrealistic goals short term to which leads to results later.

Now that my yeast has decreased, I can tackle the excess weight, I have put on.  My doctor believes once I reduce the yeast, it will be better easier to get the weight off. Let's see! If you would like to follow my weight loss adventure check out http://wellnessclubbyt.blogspot.com/.

Yeast Free Diet new elimination

So far, so good!

It has been very hard to follow this exact, but over all I have done well. After this week with these eliminations and the medications the doctor has me on I have felt better. I have been more relaxed and have had more energy. The biggest change I have seen is being focused. I have gotten a lot done this week, which has been a good feeling and keeping me motivated to keep going.

This week I'm eliminating fruit/juice, syrup and bread/cereal. Wow that is a mouth full. I like that stuff!

Looking at the list I will be eating a lot of meat and vegetables. Stir fry here I come!

Yeast Free Diet begins tomorrow!

Sorry for the lack of posts. Been planning my wedding and meeting with the doctor. Had a couple health concerns (nothing too serious).

So I am to go on a yeast free diet. Doctor said most of my symptoms (upset stomach, headaches and weight gain, to name a few) are caused due to my yeast overgrowth. This will not be easy!

I'm taking it week by week. There is a long list of items I can not eat.

The focus this week will be no mushrooms, candy, peanuts, pistachios, mayonnaise, mustard, pickles, soda,  and dried fruit.

Every week I will eliminate other items off the list.

Wish me luck. I will keep you updated on how I'm doing!

Fear, working through and on

Where did the time go. This month flew right by! My focus this month has been stepping out of fear. People sometimes forget what fear really is. For me fear happens in many forms. I'm not sure if it's from past experiences or just thoughts in my head. One fear I worked through this month is roller coasters. I let go of my thoughts, rode the rides with my eyes open and actually enjoyed it. Felt good to just let go.

Also the fear of the unknown is something that is hard for me. I have decided to start my private practice New Steps Forward (www.newstepsforward.net) officially January 2011 and setting things up now for that to happen. That starts with a new focus and ending another focus. TMS Holistic Health as always will remain my passion and I will continue to have my website and such, just no newsletters. This is getting past a fear because my school set me up for TMS Holistic Health. Many people are out there as Holistic Health Coaches/Counselors. There are not many if any Holistic Parent Educators. So I am stepping into the fear and creating something that is new, but much needed for all parents!

So is there anything that you have done that required you to step into fear? What was it like? What were the end results? Feel free to leave comments and let me know.

Here are something to take with you when fear comes across your past!
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?" - Institute of Integrative Nutrition

Actually, who are you not to be? You have the control to be who you want to be! You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

Get up and Move

Hello everyone. Time for the monthly goal update! Although the weather has not been cooperating, this month I have focused on working out 4 times a week. So far so good and I am increasing how long I work out each week. My end result by the end of the month I will be at 1 hour 4x's a week.
Wish me luck!

Has anyone set any work out goals this year that need to be refreshed?  Starting my day off with a little movement increases my energy for the day!

Please post a comment and let us know how working out (or not working out) has affected you.

Here are 5 reasons to incorporate exercising into your day and or week!

1. To keep you young - Did you know working out can increase the amount of oxygen consumed and can stimulate new brain cells.
2. To reduce infections - Moderate workouts temporarily revs-up the immune system. The more you work out the more your immune system gets a boost.
3. To control blood sugar - by exercising you help to maintain a healthy blood-sugar level by which can help to control your weight.
4. To combat stress - Regular exercise lowers levels of stress hormones. It has been known to relieve depression as effective as antidepressant medication.
5. To prolong life - Studies have shown that being more active cuts the risk of premature death.
